Internship at balu

I recently did my internship for 3rd year Fedisa students at Balu clothing. Balu Nivison started the clothing company over fifteen years ago by somewhat chance in her art workshop under her house in Hout Bay. She thought it would be a good idea to paint on clothes, it was and is flourished from that moment on and has reached local and international heights. She now has two labels Balu Kids and Bindi for women. It was a three week long internship filled with different tasks and lessons to be learnt about your ability as a fashion student and designer about to enter the real world. Balu Nivison is my aunt so fortunately for me it was a very personal experience and because of this i was actively and intensely involved in many of the different facets of the company. I worked for her Bindi Label which is a division under the Balu, it is a  bohemian themed clothing label targeted at women between the ages of 30-50. I was given a task to design a couple of tops for a new range, samples got made and they are now being produced for the new season.
